A well established Senior Recruitment Consultant and Director with over 22 years industry experience. Specialised in the hospitality sector with a clean track record and transparent ideals. Achieved excellent reputation based on clear ethical approach.

Thomas started his career at Bertorelli's as a management trainee in 1987 and worked his way through the ranks at restaurants like Corney & Barrow, The Greenhouse (with Gary Rhodes) and Langan's Brasserie. He then opened two sites for Group Flo UK in '97 and '98 as General Manager; T homas then moved on to work for Rebecca Mascaranhas as Operations Manager at Sonny's and The Phoenix.

He founded Enigma Consultancy in 2001 which he ran very succesfully until early 2008 gaining a high profile client portfolio consisting mainly of four and five star Luxury Hotels, Country Houses and Relais Châteaux properties along with prestigious restaurants and bars.

He now runs the Unitas recruitment division, covering Executive Recruitment for Hotels and Restaurants, Business Consultancy and supports his fellow director Paolo in product sourcing for high volume hospitality businesses.

Process

After being briefed in detail by the client about their company structure, products and general information about the business, we will prepare a detailed profile of the clients company.

The process begins as soon as the client has approved the proposal.

A target list will immediately be compiled by a Unitas consultant, analysing, researching and identifying the targeted markets’ companies and individuals.

We will then conducted a throughout networking process thorough our extensive contact base for the first weeks to support the target list, exploring all possible leads.

Based on the proposal, Unitas will then prepare a candidate brief (to be approved by the client), and sent to all potential candidates interested in the role, giving all the information necessary and presenting the clients company in the most professional manner.

The brief must put across the essential points of the role, making sure that Unitas focuses directly on the right individuals and avoid time wasters.

From the candidate brief, a competency questionnaire will be drafted, addressing the fundamental key points of the brief.

The consultant assigned to the vacancy, will then conduct an intensive cold-calling exercise, targeting all appropriate individuals, engaging in conversations and ensuring an efficient follow-up takes place once interest has been expressed.

A thorough interview process and reference check will be conducted for all applicants interested in the role.

The client will also be sent a regular, detailed progress report.

A shortlist of at least 3 candidates will be presented to the client and should normally be sufficient to fill the role; however, Unitas will continue short listing candidates until a satisfactory result has been achieved.
